Westover Hills Birth Center

We provide all you need to comfortably and safely bring your baby into the world. The birth center midwives provide all your prenatal care, assist you during labor and birth, and continue care for six weeks for you and your baby. The birth center offers many amenities to encourage good labor progress: deep soaking tubs, birthing stools, or one of our many various exercise (“birth”) balls. Each birth suite has color-changing/dimming lights, smart TVs, smart speakers, and oil diffusers to create a calm birth environment and peaceful atmosphere.

Having a baby is a special and exciting time for everyone! Every pregnancy and birth is unique. The birth center midwives specialize in personalized and individualized midwifery care. We want you to be informed of all of your birthing choices. Above all, the midwives want you to feel respected and supported during pregnancy and birth and to have the best experience possible.

Our providers are state-licensed and NARM-certified midwives. Westover Hills Birth Center is conveniently located in San Antonio, near SeaWorld.

Our midwives, Robin and Alisa, have worked together in various settings as a team for almost 3 decades. We are passionate about continuing to pass on our extensive experience, skills, and expertise to our newest families in San Antonio and the surrounding area. Our ethical approach ensures informed choices throughout the pregnancy journey, emphasizing personalized and individualized care, as well as continuous support. Our dedicated team of experienced professionals and staff is committed to providing exceptional prenatal, labor, and postnatal services in a calm and welcoming environment. We Offer…

Pregnancy/prenatal care by experienced, skilled midwives
45-60 minute prenatal, postpartum, and well-baby visits
24-hour emergency access to the midwives
All standard pregnancy lab testing and on-site lab collection
Childbirth and breastfeeding education classes at the birth center and by referral
Recommendations for doulas
Highly experienced services for Vaginal birth after 1 or 2 previous cesareans (VBAC), twins pregnancy and birth, and vaginal breech birth
All standard newborn screens, including hearing screen

Encourage position changes and activity for efficient labor progress and birth
Monitor baby every 15-30 minutes in active labor
Encourage position changes and activity for efficient labor and birth
Encourage you to eat, stay hydrated, and rest
Offer labor sling, birth stool, birth ball, peanut ball, rebozo, soaking tub, and nitrous oxide for comfort and encourage good progress
Provide private, spacious, home-like suite for you and your birth team
Provide a separate waiting room for your support team when you need rest or desire to be alone with your partner
